Welcome to the cipher area of the website. I've recently got interested in ciphers and secret writing, and hoping that by doing how too guides on them will help them sink in. The table below has them divided into the type of cipher it is.
Substitution Cipher | Transposition Cipher | Polbius Square Cipher | Polyalphabetic Cipher | Square Cipher | Other Cipher |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Playfair Cipher | Cell | Cell | Cell | Polybius Checkerboard | Pigpen cipher |
Vigenere Cipher | Cell | Cell | Cell | Cell | Backward Writing |

- Substitution Cipher:-Is a method of encrypting where units (which may single, pairs, or triple groups of letter, or a mixture of them) of plantext are replaced with the ciphertext,by the use of a key.
- Polyalphabtic Cipher:- A substitution cipher that uses multple substitution alphabets.
- Polybius Square (or polybius checkerboard):- This cipher is for fractionating plantext, so they can be represented by a smaller set of symbols
- Transposition Cipher:- A cipher were the plaintext is put though a key that leads to the scrambling the order of the characters.
